Part-Time Taproom Bartender

Hopewell Brewing Company is a craft brewery located in Logan Square, established in 2016. We opened our taproom simultaneously with our brewery, and it has thus become a very integral part of our company culture and identity. Our goal is to serve thoughtfully crafted beer in a welcoming environment. We expect our taproom staff to be knowledgeable, courteous and hospitality-oriented. 

Hopewell Brewing Company is seeking to add to our FOH team. This is an hourly part-time position with an average of 16 – 18 hours per week. Shifts will typically include a combination of weekdays and weekend days.

Requirements:

- Must be 21+
- BASSET Certification
- Weekend and evening availability
- Experience working in a bar, taproom, craft beer establishment or restaurant
- Knowledge or interest in craft beer
- Willingness to learn about our brewery, the brewing process and our products
- Ability to lift up to 65lbs

Responsibilities:

- Serve beer knowledgeably to customers
- Provide recommendations and tasting notes to customers
- Help maintain retail area so that it is organized and shoppable
- Clear and clean tables
- Change kegs
- Operate POS system
- Follow alcohol awareness procedures for preventing intoxication
- Welcome guests hospitably and immediately
- Ability to multitask
- Ensure that Hopewell remains a safe and inclusive space, particularly for Black, Indigenous, People of Color, LGBTQ+, non-binary, and differently-abled communities.

- All cash and credit card tips are pooled and distributed on a biweekly basis via payroll
